Ongoing Corporate Wellness Work in New York City

New York City has been home to my corporate wellness work for more than a decade.

I began teaching corporate yoga and mindfulness in NYC in 2013, working on-site with companies across fashion, sports, media, and finance. I continued that work through 2018, and after time away, returned to New York in 2023, resuming ongoing, in-person corporate engagements with teams across the city.

Across both periods, the throughline has remained the same: offering accessible, grounded yoga and mindfulness practices that meet people where they are—without fluff, pressure, or pretense.

A Wide Range of Industries, One Shared Need

While the industries vary, the reasons companies reach out are remarkably consistent.

Corporate clients come to me seeking support for:

  • Stress and burnout

  • Focus and mental clarity

  • Physical discomfort from long hours at desks

  • Nervous system regulation in high-pressure environments

  • Team morale and sustainable performance

Engagements range from weekly and bi-weekly classes to monthly sessions and one-off events, depending on company culture and needs. Some clients work with me consistently over long periods; others bring me in during moments of transition, growth, or heightened demand.

What matters most is not frequency—it’s relevance.

A Grounded, No-Nonsense Approach

Companies often tell me they value my experience, accessibility, and credibility.

My teaching style is straightforward and grounded. It’s not “airy-fairy” yoga, and it’s not performative wellness. I work with people who may be brand new to yoga alongside those with long-standing practices, and I focus on finding a common entry point that feels realistic and useful.

Classes typically blend:

  • Hatha or Vinyasa Yoga for mobility, strength, and balance

  • Breathwork and Meditation for nervous system support and focus

I explain why we’re doing certain movements and how they benefit the body—because understanding builds trust, especially in analytical, high-performing environments.

I also respect confidentiality. Many of these sessions happen inside organizations where discretion matters. Creating a space that feels safe, professional, and contained is part of the work.

Feedback That Tells the Real Story

Some of the most meaningful feedback I hear sounds like this:

  • “I didn’t expect to like this.”

  • “I feel better immediately.”

  • “I slept better last night.”

People are often surprised—not because the practices are flashy, but because they’re effective. I don’t teach to impress. I teach so people feel a tangible shift.

Sometimes that means playing normal music instead of traditional “yoga music.” Sometimes it means slowing things down more than expected. Sometimes it means reminding people that they don’t need to be flexible, calm, or experienced to benefit.

The work does itself when people give it a chance.

Why This Work Matters in NYC

New York is a city of high expectations, fast pace, and constant pressure. Many companies here already understand that wellness supports performance—they’re just navigating how to integrate it in a way that feels realistic.

The hardest part isn’t convincing people that yoga and mindfulness are valuable. It’s getting people to take the time for themselves.

Once they do, the impact is clear.

When offered thoughtfully and without ego, yoga becomes a practical tool for resilience, clarity, and sustainable energy—exactly what high-performing teams need to function well over time.

This work continues through Yoga 42’s on-site corporate wellness offerings across New York City.
